A collaboration among industry segments to identify how and why to improve both the market value and the eating value of US lamb.

Held in Ft. Collins, CO, the inaugural American Lamb Summit focused attention onto the US lamb industry’s core problems, needs and opportunities. This included improving the quality and consistency of domestic lamb, and boosting production efficiency of farms and ranches to enable them to produce high quality lamb for less cost/lb.

This was a desperately needed event for our industry, in my opinion. I thought the Summit was important for bringing together many parts of a scattered industry and starting to build a coalition of producers who will have increased focus on carcass quality and consistency. It was good to see both new and established producers together.
